About The Position

S&C Electric Company is seeking a Finisher to support its metal-finishing function in a production environment. The finishing system pre-treats metal, including through powder coating and liquid painting, to protect it from environmental exposure. The role involves continuous productive activity and meeting requirements within predetermined time constraints. Tasks require repetitive use of both hands and arms through a full range of motion, and the work is physically demanding, requiring a sustained pace for extended periods.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Working knowledge of shop math.
• Ability to follow specific instructions and procedures.
• Ability to perform physically demanding production work, including repetitive use of both hands and arms through a full range of motion.
• Respirator certification required.

Responsibilities

• Identify parts from blueprints and verify that they are properly tagged.
• Use simple material-handling equipment, including powered walking stackers, storage trucks, and pallet trucks.
• Use simple measuring equipment such as tape measures.
• Learn and perform grinding procedures to smooth welds and remove scratches from steel parts and enclosures.
• Hang parts weighing up to 200 pounds on an overhead conveyor using material-handling equipment.
• Respond to system alarms and perform basic sanding procedures.
• Maintain a continuous work pace for extended periods.
