Sets up and operates one piece of equipment. Is eligible to begin training towards Machine Operator/Mechanic status. Essential functions include setting up and operating equipment, checking for the latest revision of the packing schedule, monitoring product to assure adherence to food safety and quality critical limits, performing quality checks of labels and coding, keeping records of downtime and product checks, adjusting line speeds, performing daily and weekly operational and pre-operational checks on assigned equipment, cleaning and maintaining the assigned work area, and working on various lines as needed. The role also involves following safety rules and company policies. Other duties include assisting in training seasonal Machine Laborers, occasionally being responsible for more than one machine, and participating in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams as appropriate. The employee receives verbal and written instructions from the supervisor and performs other work as directed.
