About The Position

The Finished Goods Operator applies technical knowledge of packaging materials and equipment to set up, operate, and troubleshoot the case erector, packer, and palletizing machines in a safe and efficient manner according to quality specification sheets, customer satisfaction, and company policy. The Finished Goods Operator has the authority to place raw or finished product on hold if a quality attribute is not met.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience with machine operating in manufacturing required.
  • Maintains a continuous learning mindset and adapts quickly to new equipment, processes, and roles.
  • Demonstrates strong technical ability with a digital-first approach, embracing new technologies and accurately entering data.
  • Communicates clearly with all levels of the organization, follows instructions (written/oral/diagram form), and completes necessary documentation independently in English.
  • Pays close attention to detail, prioritizing product quality, safety, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Physically capable of meeting job requirements and consistently brings a positive, team-focused attitude to work.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, technical proficiency, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills while working independently or collaboratively to ensure effective and logical decision-making in diverse situations.
  • Demonstrates the physical capability to bend frequently and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), alongside proficiency in safely operating Powered Industrial Vehicles to support workplace operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and oversee case erector and packaging machines, including routine checks, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing equipment checks for proper function and product changeover.
  • Ensure product quality by verifying codes, using appropriate cases, discarding sub-standard materials, monitoring code dates, and completing required documentation such as audit sheets and exception reports.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels of materials (tape, cases, labels), order and return raw materials, print pallet tickets, and ensure accurate stacking and labeling of finished goods.
  • Perform sanitation and housekeeping duties in accordance with plant guidelines, including executing Assembly/Operation/Disassembly procedures and completing established operator checklists.
  • Communicate and coordinate operational matters with supervisors and coworkers, assign work placements, follow GMP and safety guidelines, and facilitate rework and reconciliation processes of product holds.
