About The Position

Physicians Mutual is looking for a Financial Support Analyst who, with the guidance of Accounting management, will be responsible for establishing and adhering to Model Audit Rule controls. This role supports all activities related to the implementation and utilization of a computer-based system to provide required planning, production, inventory control, distribution, and accounts payable for all Company areas. The analyst will build and maintain system reports for various Company areas, work with internal and external sources to resolve questions concerning inventory balances, and collaborate closely with the Accounting Support staff to establish process improvements and reporting. The role also performs miscellaneous accounting duties.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel and Microsoft Word), database reporting software, General Ledger software and the ability to utilize personal computer for financial report preparation.
• Strong understanding of financial/accounting concepts required.
• Motivation to go beyond established guidelines and procedures to improve internal control and workflow.
• Responsible for establishing and adhering to Model Audit Rule controls

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain internal controls in alignment with Model Audit Rule requirements
• Review and approve journal entries and ensure proper documentation and accuracy
• Support accounting systems, including inventory, accounts payable, and reporting tools
• Monitor data integrity and identify discrepancies, implementing corrective actions as needed
• Develop, prepare, and distribute financial and operational reports
• Partner with internal teams to improve processes, reporting, and workflow efficiency
• Assist with audits by providing required documentation to internal and external auditors
• Prepare and review reports related to tax filings, regulatory requirements, and special projects
