About The Position

The Financial Services Officer (FSO) serves as a trusted financial resource for credit union members by identifying their needs, providing personalized financial solutions, and delivering exceptional service. The role combines member relationship-building, consumer lending, account services, and support for branch operations. The officer helps members make confident financial decisions and supports their financial well-being through in-person, phone, and digital interactions.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of customer service, sales, lending, banking, financial services, or related experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build trust and establish meaningful relationships.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Proficiency with computers and business software applications.

Nice To Haves

Consumer lending experience.
Banking or credit union experience.
Experience opening new accounts and recommending financial products.
Knowledge of consumer lending regulations and compliance requirements.
Demonstrated success in sales, relationship management, or member service roles.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain strong member relationships through personalized service and financial guidance.
Deliver exceptional member experiences through in-person, phone, and digital interactions.
Educate members about products, services, and financial solutions that support their goals.
Resolve member concerns professionally and efficiently.
Interview members and evaluate consumer loan applications.
Process consumer loans from application through funding.
Analyze credit information and recommend appropriate lending solutions.
Ensure lending decisions and documentation comply with established policies and regulations.
Assist members throughout the lending process with strong service and communication.
Open and maintain checking, savings, certificate, and related member accounts.
Assist members with digital banking, electronic services, and account access.
Identify opportunities to recommend products and services that enhance members’ financial well-being.
Promote the value and benefits of credit union membership.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Follow credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Protect member confidentiality and sensitive information.
Support branch operations and assist with special projects as needed.
