About The Position

As a Financial Risk Management Consultant, you play a key role in the development, evolution, and implementation of the integrated property and casualty risk management framework. In collaboration with corporate actuarial and the executive vice-president of property and casualty insurance teams, you ensure that risks are adequately measured and managed according to the risk appetite, thereby supporting Beneva's financial strength and strategy. You contribute to solvency-related work, including the ORSA process, stress testing, and capital targets, and you prepare analyses used by decision-making bodies, including the Financial Risk Committee, senior management, and the Board of Directors. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in risk management within a second line of defense team, corporate actuarial, financial and actuarial modeling, or a related field
  • Knowledge of quantitative and modeling tools (Excel, VBA, SAS, R, Python, Power BI)
  • Mastery of the French language, both spoken and written
  • Advanced mastery of the English language, both spoken and written, due to the nature of the tasks or interactions with colleagues, partners, clients, or English-speaking suppliers, or to meet the company's growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the evolution and execution of the ORSA process
  • Lead the attestation process for the Minimum Capital Test (MCT)
  • Develop and evolve risk identification, assessment, and monitoring tools, including the internal capital model
  • Coordinate stress tests and synthesize their results for the relevant bodies
  • Perform recurring or ad-hoc analyses to inform strategic decisions
  • Participate in the review of risk appetite, and the identification and monitoring of risk indicators
  • Ensure the evolution of the risk appetite for property and casualty insurance and the modeling of indicators, including their integration into the reinsurance strategy
  • Produce reports and dashboards for senior management and the Board of Directors
  • Contribute to the drafting of policies, directives, and procedures
  • Collaborate on model validation within the framework of model risk management
  • Participate in work related to climate risk management
  • Provide support to other financial risk areas (market, credit, liquidity) as needed
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices and methods in risk management
