About The Position

Kearney and Company is seeking a Financial Management Manager to join their growing team. The candidate will be required to be onsite 2 days a week in Washington, DC. This role involves preparing and reviewing monthly/quarterly reconciliations, preparing and reviewing quarterly expense accruals, reviewing fluctuation analysis, performing financial statements and footnotes quality control, and contributing to process improvement initiatives and standard operating procedures updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of Financial Management experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of Federal Accounting experience.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements
  • Experience preparing or reviewing broad array of financial accounting entries
  • Experience conducting accounting reconciliations and analysis
  • Experience assisting in financial statement audit support and remediation
  • Experience creating, updating, tracking, and/or maintaining policy and procedure documentation
  • Understanding of authoritative guidance, to include: OMB A-136, OMB A-123, TFM (USSGL), and SFFAS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel functionality such as pivot tables and Microsoft Word.
  • Soft skills: Organized, great communication, Attention to Detail, Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Must be able to pass USCP background check

  • Abnormal balance analysis/Fluctuation analysis/Tie Point analysis
  • Imputed cost entries, fixed asset entries, F/S reporting accrual entries, etc.
  • Researching and identifying solutions to GTAS edit failures
  • Reconciling subsidiary ledger activity to the general ledger
  • Reconciling intragovernmental activity
