About The Position

The Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) is a Department of War (DoW) organization focused exclusively on accelerating the adoption of commercial technology throughout the military and growing the national security innovation base. As the Department’s gateway to leading technology companies across the country, DIU is focused on rapid prototyping, fielding, and scaling of commercial solutions that can save lives, lead to new operational concepts, increase efficiency, and save taxpayer dollars. DIU has a variety of missions which bring academic and private sector solutions to national security problems. To accomplish this mission, DIU seeks a wide variety of backgrounds including military experience, high technology product development and leadership, operations expertise, and general program management experience. Federal Civilian Positions in Financial Management support formulation and execution of the DIU budget and funds from other agencies and activities utilizing DIU contracts and program management processes. These roles work with Program Management and Contracts to ensure alignment of resources with contract and program milestones. Positions may be located in Mountain View, CA or in the National Capital Region. Responsibilities

  • Supports formulation and execution of the DIU budget and funds from other agencies and activities utilizing DIU contracts and program management processes
  • Works with Program Management and Contracts to ensure alignment of resources with contract and program milestones
  • Analyzing program and/or acquisition data through qualitative and quantitative techniques
  • Identifying and evaluating options to solve program budget issues
  • Certifying funding availability
  • Providing regulatory and procedural guidance
  • Providing overall financial management support to the DIU offices
