About The Position

Join O-I’s Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP) as an intern for Summer 2027. This program is designed to accelerate leadership growth and nurture high-potential talent in finance. Interns will gain diverse experiences, organizational insight, and a global perspective through challenging assignments and a supportive learning environment, guided by industry experts. The program aims to prepare candidates for full-time positions within O-I's financial sectors, ultimately leading to leadership roles in accounting and finance. Interns will rotate through various teams within the America’s North Region, including Commercial Finance, Accounting, Operations Finance, and Financial Planning & Analysis, with rotations occurring in Perrysburg, OH. The program includes mentorship from the program leader, rotational managers, and other FLDP participants, with regular check-ins to support progress and explore advancement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a business degree with a major in Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong GPA.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments to meet objectives.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and make data-driven decisions.
  • Natural curiosity, eagerness to learn, and strategic thinking.
  • High motivation with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Initiative and adaptability in dynamic environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Foreign language skills are a plus.
  • Experience in other software programs and/or ERP systems (SAP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex problems and make data-driven decisions.
  • Engage in challenging assignments within Accounting, Commercial Finance, Operations Finance, and Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Prepare journal entries, manage fixed assets, and handle inventory accounting.
  • Participate in month-end/year-end closing processes and Sarbanes-Oxley reporting.
  • Conduct pricing and profitability analyses, including customer-specific financial modeling and margin analysis.
  • Create price proposals and support leadership with presentations.
  • Perform period-over-period financial comparisons and key metric reviews.
  • Refresh financial reporting using financial reporting software.
  • Track labor and benefit costs and review controllable vs. non-controllable spend at the plant level.
  • Analyze plant-level forecasts.
  • Participate in shadowing and mentorship opportunities.
