About The Position
Centers for Dialysis Care is seeking two experienced Financial Counselors to work onsite at multiple locations: Garfield, Warrensville, and Oakwood. The role obtains and maintains insurance coverage for patients with End Stage Renal Disease and assists patients with transportation and travel arrangements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with Medicare and Medicaid applications and eligibility requirements.
- Experience with commercial insurance coverage.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Experience with End Stage Renal Disease insurance eligibility strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain patient insurance records and document patient interactions in the clinical record and billing system.
- Communicate accurate and complete insurance information needed for claim submission to the Manager, Revenue Cycle.
- Regularly communicate problem-resolution status to the Manager, Revenue Cycle and other clinical staff as appropriate.
- Evaluate insurance coverage, identify gaps, meet with patients to review coverage and options, and assist patients in applying for available insurance coverage.
- Coordinate management of insurance issues with the Insurance Coordination Specialist.
- Obtain and maintain insurance coverage for patients.
- Assist patients with dialysis transportation arrangements.
- Arrange out-of-town dialysis for patients who wish to travel and coordinate arrangements for incoming transient patients.
