About The Position

We are seeking a Financial Controller with proven expertise in U.S. apparel manufacturing finance to lead our financial operations, strengthen internal controls, and partner closely with production, sourcing, and executive leadership. Operating at a large scale on QuickBooks Online requires a true Guardian mindset —someone who can manage massive transaction volumes, ensure data integrity, and protect margins in a fast‑moving, deadline‑driven environment. This role is ideal for a high‑horsepower financial leader who understands the complexities of overseas production, inventory‑in‑transit, and big‑box/club‑store distribution in the U.S.

Requirements

  • Must reside in Torrance, CA and work on‑site full‑time.
  • 12+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5+ years in apparel manufacturing.
  • Apparel experience is non‑negotiable, including cost accounting, inventory‑in‑transit, and production workflow familiarity.
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and experience integrating with 3PL/Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Experience managing year‑end financial reviews and supporting external auditors.
  • Proven ability to manage high‑volume data environments using Excel and QBO.
  • Direct experience managing Factoring and A/R Financing draws.
  • Expert‑level Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Power Query) to organize, audit, and reconcile large datasets.
  • Experience managing an accounting team (AP, AR, Staff Accountants) in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of financial operations: AP, AR, GL, payroll, and institutional‑grade financial reporting.
  • Ensure high annual revenue transactions are accurately captured in QBO, bridging the gap between high‑volume operational data and the General Ledger.
  • Lead the month‑end and year‑end close, including consolidations, accruals, reconciliations, and comprehensive audit preparation.
  • Oversee cost accounting for raw materials, trims, labor, overhead, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Serve as the primary lead for Factoring relationships, A/R financing, and bank borrowing base certificates.
  • Establish and enforce checks and balances to validate production cost sheets (managed by the COO) against actual bank outflows and factory invoices.
  • Manage the cash‑flow gap between overseas factory deposits and large‑scale wholesale collections.
  • Lead year‑end financial reviews/audits and ensure GAAP compliance across multi‑state and international operations.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Sourcing, Logistics, and Executive Leadership to improve processes, reporting, and financial visibility.
  • Prepare audit packages, lender reporting, and compliance documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
