Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Financial Controller to join their growing team. Requirements

  • Previous experience working within an audit firm is considered highly desirable.
  • Qualified or partly qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Experience in financial reporting, management accounting, and financial controls.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, compliance requirements, and financial processes.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced business environment would be considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Proactive and hands-on approach with a willingness to take ownership and drive improvements.
  • Ambitious professional looking to progress into a senior finance leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of financial information.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and provide meaningful insights to management.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the preparation and coordination of annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including reconciliations, journals, and ledger management.
  • Review and approve payments, supplier reconciliations, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Ensure VAT, tax, and statutory reporting obligations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor budgeting and forecasting processes, identifying risks and opportunities where necessary.
  • Support process improvements and automation initiatives across the finance function.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to support commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Coordinate with external service providers, auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies where required.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the finance team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
  • Ensure finance procedures and documentation remain organised and up to date.
  • Assist in the implementation of new systems, controls, and reporting tools where necessary.
