About The Position

Unhitched Management is seeking a Financial Controller to lead and strengthen the financial operations of their growing organization. This is a hands-on leadership role that will partner closely with executive leadership to support smart decision-making, build scalable processes, and ensure the company has the financial foundation needed to continue growing successfully. In addition to overseeing accounting and financial operations, this individual will play a key role in developing and mentoring the bookkeeping team, helping create structure, accountability, and opportunities for growth as the company continues to expand. Requirements

  • 5+ years of accounting, finance, or financial leadership experience preferred
  • Experience supporting multi-location or multi-entity organizations
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and business operations
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or developing team members
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • A proactive problem solver who enjoys building processes and improving systems
  • Comfortable working in a fast-growing environment where priorities evolve
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

Nice To Haves

  • CPA is a plus
  • Hospitality, property management, retail, or service industry experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the company's accounting and financial operations across a growing portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and strong financial controls.
  • Provide financial reporting, analysis, and insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner closely with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and long-term planning.
  • Help build scalable financial processes and systems that support continued growth.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen reporting, and enhance operational performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the bookkeeping team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with financial, tax, payroll, and regulatory requirements while supporting audits and maintaining strong internal controls.
