About The Position

Calgary Health Foundation is looking for a strategic and hands-on Financial Controller to lead financial operations and support organizational decision-making. Reporting to the CFO, this role oversees financial reporting, planning, and controls while partnering with leadership to drive performance, sustainability, and growth.

Requirements

  • CPA designation required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience
  • 3+ years leadership experience
  • Proven ability to deliver insights and drive process improvements

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of Canadian not-for-profit accounting standards considered an asset
  • Experience with Financial Edge NXT or similar systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis, acting as a collaborative business partner to leaders throughout the organization
  • Deliver accurate financial reports, Board packages, and regulatory filings
  • Oversee audit processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and support investments
  • Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and financial processes
  • Optimize financial systems and drive efficiency improvements
  • Lead and develop finance team; oversee accounting operations (GL, AP, payroll review)
