About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our team. The Financial Controller is responsible for leading all accounting and financial reporting functions within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in both internal and external audits, along with a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory, and cost management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s preferred), CPA strongly preferred
  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience leading or supporting financial audits (external and internal)
  • Prior experience with cost accounting and inventory management required
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, audit processes, and internal controls
  • Experience with complex account transactions
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational abilities
  • Expertise in cost accounting and manufacturing finance
  • Effective communication skills, including ability to interface with auditors and executive leadership
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead and work within a cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex Accounting issues
  • Ability to develop and implement Accounting strategies that align with business goals
  • Ability to manage Accounting projects from start to finish
  • Fluent in English

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Lead complex accounting transactions include acquisitions, divestitures, valuation and other
  • Manage all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
  • Ensure proper accounting for inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and manufacturing variances
  • Analyze financial results and provide actionable insights to leadership
  • Lead and coordinate external financial statement audits and internal audits
  • Serve as the primary liaison with auditors; ensure timely responses and resolution of findings
  • Maintain audit-ready financial records and documentation at all times
  • Evaluate and enhance internal controls over financial reporting (SOX experience preferred, if applicable)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and accounting standards
  • Implement corrective actions and process improvements based on audit findings
  • Ensure appropriate application of complex transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, and/or other non-standard closing activities
  • Design, implement, and monitor robust internal control systems
  • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Continuously improve processes to strengthen compliance and operational efficiency
  • Maintain and improve cost accounting systems, including standard costing and variance analysis
  • Monitor production costs, labor efficiencies, scrap, and overhead allocation
  • Partner with operations to improve financial performance and reduce costs
  • Support inventory management, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes
  • Drive implementation of Plex ERP system from a controls perspective
  • Ensure other functions are fully supported in establishing ERP framework
  • Become expert user to facilitate knowledge transfer and drive best practices
  • Manage and develop the accounting team, including performance management and training
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership
