About The Position

Under the direction of Financial Analyst Supervisor 2, the incumbent serves as a Senior Financial Analyst in the Business Office handling budgetary, accounting, and reporting functions that support the mission and activities of the UC Irvine Libraries. Develop recommendations for new and changes to existing Business Office policies and procedures and ensure compliance with Libraries, campus, and UC policies and procedures. Responsible for managing and coordinating the production and complex analysis of monthly financial reports, overseeing the associated operating budgets of assigned accounts. Conducts complex financial analysis and reconciliation of the permanent budget, identifying errors and resolving problems. Provides financial analysis and reporting for recharge units and sales & services activities. Serves as Fiscal Officer for assigned accounts and Subject Matter Expert for corrections (GEC), budget adjustments, internal billing, and inter campus transfers.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems
  • Ability to independently gather required information to organize and perform financial analysis assignments
  • Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
  • Advanced skills in Excel, database software, and financial data analysis tools for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues throughout the organization, with a strong service orientation
  • Critical thinking and attention to detail, with proven organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities

  • Skill to develop new systems and procedures to improve delivery of services
  • BS/BA related degree; Finance/Accounting preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience conducting complex financial analysis, planning, preparation, and administration of a multi-million dollar budget
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization
