About The Position

Sysmex is a global leader in diagnostic equipment and information management systems, dedicated to improving lives through science and innovation. We are seeking a Financial Analyst to support our finance function, particularly for Sysmex Canada. This role requires a strong understanding of financial statements, reporting, and variance analysis. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and will be instrumental in supporting strategic and operating plans, financial forecasting, and business case assessments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field required.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in Financial Analysis, Accounting or Business related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (including sumifs, vlookup, pivot tables, etc)
  • Working knowledge of MS PowerPoint
  • Comfortable and skilled in data mining and predictive modeling
  • Strong problem seeking skills and resolution-seeking persistence
  • Financial Analysis and Decision Support
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to details and accuracy, highly organized, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well on large and small cross-functional teams

Nice To Haves

  • French language proficiency an asset
  • SAP, Oracle Planning, Power BI experience desired

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the annual budgets and monthly forecasts of the financial statements for Sysmex Canada and other business units as required
  • Act as the primary financial business partner for the Sysmex Canada team, developing strategic and operating plans, supporting pricing analysis, order funnel reporting and analysis, and creating customer financial models.
  • Analyze financial results versus forecast, budget and prior year identifying key variances and providing timely analysis with commentary to FP&A team
  • Maintains, and seeks to improve, current forecasting models and can create new models as required
  • Works with the Canada leadership team to assess the financial business case for special projects, initiatives and customer agreements in the Canadian market.
  • Owns the financial planning and forecasting process for Canada including full P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
  • Assist Finance and other departments to assess financial business case for ROI initiatives, business development activities, process and efficiency improvement and other key projects as identified by the Senior Finance Manager
  • Build and maintain strong business partnerships through effective networking
  • Assist the Senior Finance Manager with special projects and duties as assigned
