Financial Analyst - Monday-Friday - Day Shift

About The Position

The Financial Analyst maintains the general ledger, hospital operating and financial statistics, and account reconciliation schedules. The role supports hospital-wide budgeting, audits, regulatory and tax reporting, financial analysis for investment decisions, and other finance projects. The analyst may also cover accounts payable, payroll, and other accounting duties during emergency staff absences. This position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

At least five years of accounting experience as a financial analyst, controller, or other senior finance professional is preferred.
Prior hospital experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain the general ledger, including daily and monthly journal entries.
Maintain hospital operating statistics and financial statistics.
Prepare and maintain schedules for general ledger account balance reconciliations.
Prepare and maintain spreadsheets for the Director of Finance or Administration.
Implement and maintain the hospital-wide budgeting system, including training department directors.
Meet with each department director at least quarterly to compare budget expectations with actual expenses.
Assist with preparing materials for regular audits and support auditors during fieldwork.
Assist with preparing schedules for the hospital’s annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and 990 tax returns.
Prepare gross and net revenue calculations and expense estimates for departments, service lines, physician practices, or equipment to support investment decisions.
Cover accounts payable, payroll, and certain other accounting responsibilities during emergency situations when the responsible accountant is away.
Complete special projects requested by the Vice President of Finance and/or Director of Finance.
