About The Position

The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing business insight and analytical support to the GeoMarket Operations Controller or Country Finance Manager to ensure that each significant business decision is given proper financial consideration. This role involves reviewing results and profitability analysis, performing general ledger accounting, validating accounting by outsourced organizations, and analyzing cost allocation cycles. The analyst will also manage and control investments, including CAPEX and projects, request intercompany cost recharges, and review revenue recognition and deferred revenue. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will review product cost/product revenue margins, finalize period-end results, execute internal controls, comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and review balance sheet reconciliations.

Requirements

  • General ledger accounting experience.
  • Experience with validating accounting by outsourced organizations.
  • Experience with cost allocation cycles.
  • Experience with analyzing and controlling investments, including CAPEX and projects.
  • Experience managing project structures, project planning, and budget assignment.
  • Experience managing project settlement rules.
  • Experience monitoring project revenue and cost execution and closure.
  • Experience requesting intercompany cost recharges.
  • Experience reviewing revenue recognized and reconciling against sales orders.
  • Experience reviewing deferred revenue.
  • Understanding of revenue determination and accounting for nonroutine contracts.
  • Experience reviewing revenue, direct costs consumption, and profitability reports.
  • Experience reviewing Product Cost Product Revenue (PCPR) margin and variance explanations.
  • Experience finalizing period-end results and investigating variances.
  • Experience executing internal controls.
  • Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Experience reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experience overseeing clearing of open items by outsourced organizations.
  • Experience certifying completeness of balance sheet notes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide business insight and analytical support to the GeoMarket Operations Controller or Country Finance Manager.
  • Review results and profitability analysis relating to the area of responsibility.
  • Analyze and investigate trends and reports.
  • Perform general ledger accounting.
  • Validate accounting by outsourced organizations, including pre-paid, accruals, and allocations.
  • Review cost allocation cycles and determine if changes are needed.
  • Analyze results of allocation runs.
  • Analyze and control investments, including CAPEX and projects.
  • Manage project structures, perform project planning and budget assignment, manage project settlement rules, and monitor project revenue and cost execution and closure.
  • Request intercompany cost recharges as needed.
  • Review revenue recognized through the period and reconcile against sales orders.
  • Review deferred revenue not recognized due to lack of recognition criteria, and follow up.
  • Understand revenue determination and accounting in accordance with RDS for nonroutine contracts.
  • Review revenue, direct costs consumption, and profitability reports for completeness, and report to GeoMarket.
  • Review Product Cost Product Revenue (PCPR) margin and variance explanations, and report final results and analysis to GeoMarket.
  • Finalize overall period-end results, investigate variances, negative trends or exposures, and report to GeoMarket.
  • Execute internal controls in accordance with the set control framework.
  • Understand and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and oversee clearing of open items by outsourced organizations.
  • Certify completeness of balance sheet notes.
