About The Position

This co-op position is open to students registered in a recognized co-op program within the Greater Victoria area. The role is for an 8-month duration, from September 2026 to April 2027. The Financial Analyst Co-op will work within the Corporate Planning and Analysis branch, which is responsible for preparing financial reports and statements for management, including budgets, variance analysis, financial forecasts, cost allocations, and procurement advice. The company, BC Pension Corporation, is a large pension service provider in Canada serving over 780,000 members and 1,000 employers.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Preparing a variety of financial reports and statements for management.
  • Preparing budgets, variance analysis, and financial forecasts.
  • Allocating corporate costs to plans.
  • Developing estimations and explanations of future allocations.
  • Providing procurement advice and services.
  • Coordinating, communicating, and executing the strategic plan and supporting plans and initiatives.
  • Reporting on performance to strategic plans.
  • Providing financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis services to internal and external clients.
  • Ensuring the corporation manages its key business risks and opportunities.
  • Ensuring business continuity plans are in place.
  • Coordinating incident and crisis response.

  • Salary: $2,040.97 bi-weekly – Grid 7, Step 3 (for students working towards a diploma or bachelor's degree) or $2,335.03 bi-weekly – Grid 12, Step 3 (for students working towards a post-graduate degree)
