Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year experience in a college financial aid and/or a student services environment utilizing exceptional customer service skills.
  • Banner experience.
  • Normal day-to-day office environment functions including sitting for long periods of time, standing and walking between offices and campus buildings.
  • Must be able to work in a busy fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for students and parents with financial aid questions and issues, resolving inquiries directly or escalating to appropriate staff.
  • Assist front counter staff in the Student Service Center by answering financial aid questions and processing payments.
  • Determine eligibility and certify undergraduate PLUS loans and private/alternative student loans.
  • Review and resolve disbursement issues on loans.
  • Act as a final Verification Reviewer to ensure compliance with federal verification guidelines for audits.
  • Award institutional aid to 'non-FAFSA-filers', including merit awards and tuition discounts.
  • Integrate outside scholarships into financial aid packages, ensuring compliance with regulations and preventing over-awards.
  • Create financial aid documents for Freshmen Orientation Financial Aid Sessions.
  • Assist the Director with maintaining and updating NCAA Compliance Assistant software.
  • Assist the Director and Associate Director with placing new athletic awards in Banner.
  • Oversee and regulate written communication processes, including missing information letters/emails, Master Promissory Note notifications, Verification Complete Notices, and FAFSA Acknowledgement Letters.
  • Coordinate the financial aid renewal process through various communication channels and deadline reminders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
