About The Position

Coordinate scholarship programs, including the accurate and timely awarding of scholarship aid to a high volume of students; ensure departmental compliance with federal, state, institutional, external and donor regulations. Collaborate with campus and external partner organizations to support access and funding opportunities for special populations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Two years of experience in student financial aid
  • Personal computer applications

  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Suite Applications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate student financial aid and scholarship programs, managing high-volume application, review, awarding, and reconciliation processes while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Develop reports and monitoring procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, institutional, external, and donor requirements related to financial aid and scholarship programs.
  • Review, evaluate, and process large volumes of financial aid and scholarship records to ensure timely awarding and compliance with established policies and deadlines.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service within the department; may coordinate and implement training procedures for department staff.
  • Review federal and state regulatory updates and assess impacts on institutional compliance and awarding practices.
  • Counsel and advise students and families regarding financial aid, scholarships, eligibility requirements, and funding opportunities.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and administration of university policies and procedures related to financial aid and scholarship awarding.
  • Conduct informational presentations and outreach activities related to financial aid, scholarships, and student funding opportunities.
  • Compile, analyze, and report data related to financial aid and scholarship programs, identifying trends and supporting program assessment.
  • Determine eligibility, develop award packages, and adjust financial aid and scholarship awards in accordance with regulations and institutional policies.
  • Collaborate with campus departments, community organizations, school districts, foundations, and other external partners to support scholarship initiatives and funding opportunities for special populations, including underrepresented, first-generation, transfer, and other targeted student groups.
  • Provide functional guidance to administrative and professional staff and/or direct supervision of support staff on an ongoing basis.
  • Facilitate and coordinate multiple concurrent projects requiring strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
