Finance Technology Lead

EquisoftMontreal, QC
Hybrid

About The Position

Equisoft is a global provider of digital solutions for the insurance and investment sectors, recognized by more than 300 of the world’s leading financial institutions. We offer a comprehensive ecosystem of scalable solutions that help our customers navigate the challenges of digital transformation – powered by a business needs-driven approach, deep industry knowledge, cutting-edge technologies, and multicultural team of experts based in North America, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. This is a senior individual contributor role with high autonomy and broad scope, focused on leveraging existing technologies like NetSuite and Workday Adaptive, integrating AI into Finance workflows, and selectively adding point solutions. The role involves translating technology priorities into executed outcomes, working closely with Finance colleagues, cross-functional partners, Enterprise IT, and external providers.

Requirements

  • A finance professional who migrated toward data and technology.
  • 7+ years of combined experience in finance and financial systems — enough financial literacy to challenge how Finance operates, and enough systems experience to drive technology deployments without hand-holding.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP and FP&A platforms, ideally NetSuite and Workday Adaptive, and genuine curiosity about AI — ideally with hands-on experience building AI-assisted workflows or a demonstrated drive to develop that capability quickly.
  • More than a systems person — equally comfortable driving business process improvements and challenging how Finance operates, not just how its tools are configured.
  • Track record of program and project managing technology initiatives from requirements through delivery — defining scope, coordinating stakeholders, and producing outcomes, not just recommendations.
  • Strong communicator: able to provide clear reporting on initiative status and KPIs to senior leadership, and to support Finance colleagues through system and process changes with minimal disruption.
  • Instinct for simplicity over complexity: gravitates toward out-of-the-box functionality, avoids unnecessary customization, and pushes back on over-engineered solutions.
  • Bilingualism (English/French).
  • Strategic – You consider the big picture, challenge conventional thinking, and demonstrate a high level of business acumen.
  • Analytical – You have excellent problem-solving skills and use data to generate meaningful insights.
  • Organized – You effectively organize and prioritize your work.
  • Diligent – You follow through with care and precision, and hold yourself to a high standard.
  • Dynamic – You embody resilience, drive, and energy that radiates throughout all interactions.
  • Influential – You communicate with clarity and credibility, and can bring colleagues along through change without relying on formal authority.
  • Team player – You welcome collaboration and are passionate about contributing to a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Help identify and prioritize Finance technology initiatives, focused primarily on fully leveraging NetSuite and Workday Adaptive, integrating AI tools into Finance workflows, and selectively adding point solutions where gaps remain.
  • Document requirements, optimize and re-engineer Finance processes.
  • Lead vendor selection for Finance-owned tools in coordination with Enterprise IT.
  • Project-lead deployments from the Finance side.
  • Serve as Finance's internal AI champion — committed to mastering Claude's capabilities, hands-on with building and maintaining Finance-specific AI workflows, and responsible for defining, managing, and evolving the prompt and skills library for the Finance function.
  • In close partnership with Equisoft's AI Center of Excellence, identify and implement high-value Finance use cases — including Claude-based agentic workflows — as Finance's domain owner within the enterprise AI framework.
  • Define requirements for any integration layers needed to connect business systems to Finance’s analytical stack, including AI tools, and project-lead the Finance side of implementation in partnership with Enterprise IT.
  • Assess and improve the quality of business and operational data across source systems — driving standardization, resolving inconsistencies, establishing ownership rules and validation checkpoints, and ensuring data is fit for reporting, forecasting, and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Lead the people side of technology initiatives — designing and delivering training, supporting colleagues through transitions, and ensuring new tools and processes are embedded in day-to-day workflows rather than just deployed.
  • Track adoption and surface issues early.
