Finance Lead

Rally
$160,000 - $190,000Remote

About The Position

As Rally's first in-house Finance Lead, you'll be the financial partner to our CEO and leadership team on every major decision — pricing, GTM investment, headcount, vendors, and capital strategy. You'll build Rally's finance function from the ground up and bring the rigor that turns finance into a real-time decision-making engine. You'll report directly to our CEO and partner closely with leaders across Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and People. This is a remote-first role within the United States, with NYC preferred. Occasional travel for team gatherings, board meetings, and investor meetings is expected.

Requirements

  • 3–8 years of post-undergrad experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, venture capital, and/or strategic finance at a high-growth SaaS startup
  • Strong modeling fluency: you build clean, defensible financial models and are comfortable with cohort analysis, unit economics, and scenario planning
  • Fluency in SaaS metrics: ARR, NDR, GRR, CAC, payback, magic number, burn multiple, gross margin, and cohort retention
  • A hands-on operator's mindset — you live in the model, run the budget, and drive decisions, not just produce decks
  • The temperament to hold founders and senior leaders accountable on budget, spend, and runway, and to push back when needed
  • Comfort with ambiguity; you build the playbook as you go and don't need defined scope to be effective
  • An AI-native approach to finance — modern FP&A stack, automation, and AI tooling, not legacy Excel-only workflows

Nice To Haves

  • In-house experience at a high-growth SaaS or AI-native startup (Series A–C)
  • Direct experience with SaaS pricing and packaging changes
  • Experience managing procurement and SaaS / AI spend in a high-growth environment
  • Exposure to fundraising processes (data room prep, model diligence, investor narrative)
  • Strong written communication — turning complex financial analysis into clear strategic recommendations

Responsibilities

  • Own daily visibility into cash, burn, and runway, and hold the leadership team accountable to capital efficiency
  • Build and maintain the financial model end-to-end: forecasting, scenario planning, cohort analysis, fundraising prep, and unit economics
  • Run budget construction, departmental spend tracking, and budget vs. actuals reviews; centralize visibility into SaaS, AI, and vendor spend
  • Partner on pricing and packaging — own the modeling, scenario analysis, and impact measurement behind pricing changes
  • Lead GTM finance work in partnership with Sales: CAC, payback, cohort NDR, pipeline-to-bookings, and commission modeling
  • Own procurement and vendor financial review; help decide what we pay for tools and where to negotiate
  • Build board, investor, and fundraising materials and partner with the CEO on narrative
  • Build the financial reporting and close infrastructure using modern tooling, AI, and automation
  • Manage the outsourced accounting partner to ensure accuracy and timeliness

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity
  • Flexible / unlimited PTO policy
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Parental Leave
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Home office set-up support
  • Monthly remote work stipend
  • Quarterly in-person team or company gatherings
