About The Position

Electric Boat’s Finance Digital Transformation Office (DTO) is expanding the team that supports its Oracle EBS R12 financial modules, including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Projects, Billing, and Tax Books. The environment uses both custom software modifications and native Oracle processes. The role works with IT Software Engineers and Finance/Accounting personnel to develop and implement procedures for populating, sourcing, and accurately managing accounting, asset, and tax information in Oracle Finance modules, while improving system functionality and ease of use. The position is intended for mid-career or advanced candidates with significant Oracle EBS experience, preferably in highly regulated industries and/or Project Accounting, and a willingness and eagerness to learn.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related Accounting, Financial/Economics, Mathematics, or IT/Computer Science field.
• At least 5 years of related experience supporting an Oracle ERP.
• Experience supporting financial and/or accounting functions.
• Experience using PS SQL for code writing and database querying.
• Familiarity with the software development cycle process.
• Knowledge of Oracle EBS processes and structures.
• Ability to gather and analyze data to resolve business system issues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to build relationships across departments and management.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively about technical data issues.
• Ability to work independently or as a team member.
• Willingness and eagerness to learn.

Nice To Haves

• At least 5 years of experience with Oracle EBS Financial Modules.
• Familiarity with Oracle Project Accounting.
• Experience working for a Government Contractor or in Defense.
• Experience working in a SOX-controlled financial environment.
• Knowledge of Electric Boat’s business systems, particularly Finance Oracle and Mainframe systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between IT and Accounting personnel for enhancements and fixes to the Fixed Assets, Tax, and some Accounting modules in Oracle.
• Support the proper recording of financial information.
• Identify relevant process-improvement opportunities and assist in executing them.
• Execute and distribute routine reports to users.
• Query financial information from Oracle using SQL.
