About The Position

The Town of Riverdale Park is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager (CPA Preferred) to join the Office of Finance Services. This is a key leadership position responsible for managing the Town’s day-to-day accounting operations and supporting the integrity of financial reporting and internal controls. This position offers the opportunity to play a meaningful role in municipal finance, supporting responsible stewardship of public resources and helping guide the Town’s continued financial stability and operational excellence. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, preferably in municipal or governmental finance.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
  • Experience in municipal or governmental finance
  • Experience with financial management or ERP systems
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting standards
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Maintain general ledger records and perform financial reconciliations
  • Support preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports
  • Assist with preparation of the Town’s annual operating budget
  • Coordinate audit schedules and assist with the annual external audit
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and Town financial policies
  • Monitor banking activity and reconcile deposits and accounts
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiency
  • Support implementation and improvement of financial systems and ERP tools
