Finance Manager (CPA Preferred)
About The Position
The Town of Riverdale Park is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager (CPA Preferred) to join the Office of Finance Services. This is a key leadership position responsible for managing the Town’s day-to-day accounting operations and supporting the integrity of financial reporting and internal controls. This position offers the opportunity to play a meaningful role in municipal finance, supporting responsible stewardship of public resources and helping guide the Town’s continued financial stability and operational excellence. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, preferably in municipal or governmental finance.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
- Experience in municipal or governmental finance
- Experience with financial management or ERP systems
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Maintain general ledger records and perform financial reconciliations
- Support preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports
- Assist with preparation of the Town’s annual operating budget
- Coordinate audit schedules and assist with the annual external audit
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and Town financial policies
- Monitor banking activity and reconcile deposits and accounts
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiency
- Support implementation and improvement of financial systems and ERP tools
