About The Position

The Finance Manager - Pricing is an integral part of Latham’s Revenue & Financial Analysis team. This role will be responsible for oversight of a team of financial analysts who provide high-level financial and strategic support to the firm’s partners, legal departments and practice groups particularly in support of RFPs from existing or prospective clients, while managing and mentoring a team of Pricing Analysts, including workload management, coaching, training, and performance development. This role will be located in our Global Services Office in Downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in economics, finance, business administration or related field
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in finance or related professional services, preferably with prior experience running revenue-related programs
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of cumulative experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience leading projects and other initiatives, preferably
  • Exceptional and professional interpersonal skills (e.g., active listening), including superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with people at all organizational levels
  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment with a customer-service focus
  • Ability to undertake large, long-term projects, develop alternative methods to complete them, and implement solutions

Responsibilities

  • Leading pricing discussions directly with partners and attorneys, providing strategic guidance and recommendations related to fee structures, profitability considerations, pricing strategy, and commercial positioning
  • Supporting the development of budgets, fee estimates, profitability models, and matter economics analyses
  • Reviewing and approving fee proposals involving discounts, alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), and other non-standard terms to ensure financial soundness, consistency, and alignment with firm objectives
  • Providing data-driven recommendations and materials to support the firm’s Pricing Approval Committee; identifying risk trends, opportunity areas, and potential guardrails for fee flexibility
  • Developing KPIs and reporting frameworks to track pricing approval volume, turnaround time, financial impact, and exceptions; generates monthly/quarterly insights for executive leadership to inform pricing policy and client strategy
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
