About The Position

This ten-week paid internship is based in Chicago, Illinois, or Richardson, Texas. The intern assists with the development, integration, testing, and maintenance of existing and new data and analytics business solutions, supporting divisional data solutions while following corporate policies and standards. The role may include monitoring defect resolution for production and operational readiness, managing deadlines and work efforts, recommending process improvements, and communicating with the team and management. With guidance from an assigned mentor and manager, the intern owns project components and deliverables, conducts research and data analysis, develops recommendations to inform business decisions, and collaborates with cross-functional teams. The intern also supports departmental initiatives that improve business outcomes and member and client experience, and presents the internship project, results, and recommendations to department leadership. The position requires confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, and applicable policies. The internship program includes formal orientation, a hands-on project, weekly networking opportunities, professional development workshops, and volunteer activities. The role is designated as hybrid; flex employees are expected to work in the office at least three days per week, with management discretion to modify schedules for exigent circumstances.

Requirements

Pursuing a bachelor's degree; rising senior with a major in computer science, computer information science, or management information systems. Other majors may be considered.
Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
Available for the full duration of the 10-week program.
Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.
Ability to collect, clean, and prepare uncomplicated data.
Understanding of straightforward data structures.
Ability to describe data and understand reasonability checking.
Ability to work with change coordinators to implement changes and new solutions.
Entry-level knowledge of data technology, such as BI, database platforms, or other data toolsets.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
Strong analytical skills.
Practical PC skills, especially Excel, Word, Access, and basic SQL.
