About The Position

HCSC is hiring a paid, ten-week Finance Data & Analytics Developer Intern in Chicago, Illinois, or Richardson, Texas. The intern will support the development, integration, testing, and maintenance of existing and new data and analytics business solutions, using one or more programming languages and following divisional and corporate policies and standards. The role may involve monitoring defect resolution and production readiness, managing deadlines and work efforts, recommending process improvements, and communicating with the team and management. With guidance from an assigned mentor and manager, the intern will own components of project work and deliverables, research and analyze information, and develop recommendations to inform business decisions. The intern will collaborate across functions, contribute to departmental initiatives that improve business outcomes and the member and client experience, and present the internship project, results, and recommendations to department leadership. The intern must maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, and applicable compliance policies. The internship program includes formal orientation, a hands-on project, weekly networking opportunities, professional development workshops, and volunteer activities. The position is described as flex, with employees expected to be in the office at least three days per week; management may modify schedules for exigent circumstances. The base pay range is $19.13–$34.17, with exact compensation varying based on skills, experience, and location.

Requirements

Pursuing a bachelor's degree as a rising senior, with a major in computer science, computer information science, or management information systems; other majors may be considered.
Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
Available for the full duration of the ten-week program.
Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.
Ability to collect, clean, and prepare uncomplicated data.
Understanding of straightforward data structures.
Ability to describe data and understand reasonability checking.
Ability to work with change coordinators to implement changes and new solutions.
Entry-level knowledge of data technologies such as BI, database platforms, or other data toolsets.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Demonstrated verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Practical, developed PC skills, especially Excel, Word, and Access, and basic SQL.
Understanding of one or more programming languages.
