POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for processing intracompany transactions, calculating attendance bonus, data entry, and assisting with other accounting responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing, filing, and bookkeeping, plus one or more years’ experience in an administrative/ clerical position; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, professional documents, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, vendors, and Management.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Integrity, flexibility/adaptability, initiative, interpersonal skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Maintain the confidential integrity of details pertaining to Eastern Shipbuilding Group.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain bonding insurance coverage may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Process all intracompany invoicing transactions related to intracompany receivables.
  • Calculate attendance bonus monthly.
  • Lead accounting record-retention activities, including digitizing documents and properly disposing of physical files.
  • Provide support to other accounting clerks with accounts payable transactions as needed.
  • Perform other accounting-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
