About The Position

Serve as full-time faculty lead for Cougar Capital, a student-managed private equity and venture capital investment program within the Marriott School of Business. Design and deliver instruction for MBA 664 (Private Equity & Venture Capital) and MBA 665 Part 1 & Part 2 (Advanced Private Equity & Venture Capital Strategy), including course structure, materials, and assessment. Lead classroom sessions covering sourcing, due diligence, valuation, deal structuring, and portfolio management in private markets. Provide ongoing mentorship to student leaders and fund teams on investment process, professional development, and program operations. Collaborate with Marriott School faculty and student leadership to maintain a cohesive experiential learning environment across the program. Guide student investment pitches and analyses, offering direct feedback and professional judgment to strengthen student decision-making. Provide career guidance and share professional experience related to careers in private equity, venture capital, and related investment fields. Maintain ongoing engagement with the Cougar Capital program outside of scheduled class sessions, including program administration and student oversight. Participate in departmental service and faculty responsibilities consistent with a full-time professional faculty appointment.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree completed by the start date.
  • Significant professional experience in private equity, venture capital, growth equity, or related investment fields.
  • Ability to mentor students and lead applied, experiential coursework.
  • Ability to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching, instructional design, or curriculum development experience at the collegiate level.
