About The Position

Matheny is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Our fully-accredited non-profit private school combines traditional academics with therapeutic intervention and pre-vocational skill development. Our Adult Services Program includes five licensed community residences/group homes and two adult learning centers. Staffed by experienced therapists and instructors, the program supports adult patients as they attain their highest level of functioning and integration into the community. Matheny's Arts Access program empowers individuals with disabilities to create art without boundaries. Requirements

  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business required
  • Three years of accounting, bookkeeping, reconciliations, AP, billing, or finance operations experience minimum.
  • Must be able to work accurately with detailed financial information, follow procedures, and learn multiple processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn and effectively use finance and operational systems are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or active progress toward one preferred.
  • Blackbaud or healthcare/nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Bookkeeping or accounting certificate preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts
  • Maintain prepaid and accrual schedules
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting
  • Support month-end close activities
  • Prepare supporting schedules for cost reports
  • Compile supporting documentation for audits
  • Assist with grant reporting schedules
  • Support statistical reporting requirements
  • Maintain documentation supporting regulatory filings
  • Provide backup coverage for Accounts Payable
  • Provide backup coverage for Billing
  • Support cash posting activities
  • Assist with revenue cycle support functions
  • Maintain proficiency in multiple finance processes
  • Participate in departmental cross-training initiatives
  • Maintain process documentation
  • Assist with procedure development
  • Support special projects and process improvements
