About The Position

Inclusion Langley Society (ILS) is looking for a Finance & Accounting Assistant to join our Finance team and support the accurate and timely management of our financial operations. At ILS, finance isn’t just about numbers—it’s about supporting programs and services that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Reporting to the Director, Finance, you will be a key member of our Finance team, delivering hands‑on accounting and administrative support to maintain accurate and timely financial records. You bring a collaborative mindset, a high standard of accuracy, and sharp attention to detail. Your role will directly support strong financial stewardship across the organization and be integral in helping drive process improvements as we prepare to implement a new accounting system.

Requirements

  • A certificate or diploma in accounting, finance, or business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
  • Solid organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with accounting or ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative, service‑oriented approach
  • A commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and continuous learning
  • This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a finance or accounting support role (preferred)
  • Working knowledge GAAP principles would be considered an asset.
  • Experience using Sage Intact preferred

Responsibilities

  • Processing full‑cycle accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payments
  • Preparing customer billings and handling vendor and internal inquiries
  • Entering general ledger transactions and completing account reconciliations
  • Supporting month‑end and year‑end closing activities
  • Maintaining accurate asset records and supporting asset tracking and reporting
  • Organizing financial records and assisting with audits and compliance requirements
  • Handling confidential financial and personal information with care and professionalism
