About The Position

Join the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) as a Summer Student Finance Administrator. WOCRC is dedicated to improving lives and making a tangible impact on the community. This role is part of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant, aiming to provide quality summer work experiences for young Canadians aged 15 to 30. WOCRC connects children, youth, parents, adults, and seniors with services in Ottawa West, supporting diverse communities by providing and coordinating accessible health and social services. Requirements

  • Must be between the ages of 15 to 30 and legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Working towards an Accounting Program or interest in Finance.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team approach.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Multi-tasking abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent computer and administrative skills.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English, spoken and written.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingualism (English/French) and other languages are considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support with accounts payable, accounts receivables, and special project reporting.
  • Prepare, verify, and process payables.
  • Process/print cheques, create online payment batches, and coordinate approvals.
  • Update vendor database information.
  • Prepare and process all incoming payments.
  • Input data in the Sage Accounting Application.
  • Update Donor Management System and create Tax Receipts.
  • Liaise with program staff and ensure program needs are being met.
  • Provide information about financial information to program staff.
  • Participate in financial data and information management.
  • Participate as an active team member in staff meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
