About The Position

This detail-oriented Finance Administrator supports the financial operations of The Detroit Lions, Inc. and DLI Properties, LLC. This role is integral to maintaining efficient day-to-day finance functions while also providing administrative workflow management support across a lean, collaborative department. The Finance Administrator is adaptable, hands-on, and comfortable contributing across both accounting and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or administrative support required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, without formal instruction
  • Ability to plan, organize and accomplish assignments accurately and efficiently with a high degree of professionalism to garner credibility and confidence.
  • A valid Driver’s License and a good driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with accounting systems (Sage Intaact) preferred
  • Experience with Concur for T&E preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing accounts payable under the direction of the Staff Accountant and Payables/Receivables Lead. Maintain proper knowledge of departments to code and route invoices.
  • Assist with sourcing and pricing of purchases
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Record cash receipts and make cash deposits
  • Maintain petty cash
  • Order per diem and prepare for distribution during the football season
  • Support monthly and year-end close processes as needed.
  • Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records in accordance with internal controls and league requirements, including tracking fringe benefits
  • Respond to vendor and internal finance inquiries in a timely manner
  • Manage executives’ calendars with confidence.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the finance team, with an emphasis on scheduling, expense reports, and travel and expense coordination for staff as needed.

  • Support travel and expense coordination for staff as needed
  • Reviews, summarizes and prioritizes incoming mail for finance department. Prepares outgoing mail and packages for shipment and coordinates shipping, handling and delivery in a timely fashion
  • Coordinate suite usage during the football season
  • Coordinates all administrative details for visitors, including greeting and escorting all scheduled visitors, coordinating conference rooms, food and beverages, calendar requests, conference rooms, and other activities as needed. Monitor status of all visitors while on-site
  • Orders, monitors and maintains office equipment and supplies.
