About The Position

At PNNL, our core capabilities are divided among major departments that we refer to as Directorates within the Lab, focused on a specific area of scientific research or other function, with its own leadership team and dedicated budget. Our directorates related to Mission Support & Operations include Office of General Counsel, Business Services, Communications and External Engagement, Operational Systems, Communications and Information Technology, and Performance Management. The Business Services Directorate (BSD) provides crucial financial, procurement and sales, and project management services to PNNL, as required under our management and operations contract for operating the Lab on behalf of the Department of Energy. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant experience -OR- AA or higher and 4 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient use of standard office equipment
  • Proficient use of MS Office Suite (specifically Excel and Access)
  • Ability to prioritize work
  • Responsible for commitments and action items
  • Understand office support functions
  • Ability to effectively apply procedures
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to direct workflow of others as appropriate

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of financial and/or accounting activities, which may include the maintenance, control, analysis and development of complex financial/accounting records, reports and systems and their ongoing support.
  • Provide or assist in business advice and services to management and staff to ensure compliance with applicable federal laws, regulations, policies and sound business practices.
  • Adheres to and communicates business policies and procedures, including training and interpretation for the various organizations supported.
  • Independent invoicing, final invoicing and closeouts, refunds, write-offs, account reconciliations, clearing suspense accounts and billings to other Hanford Contractors.
  • Recognize and adhere to diverse contractual invoicing requirements.
  • Meet critical deadlines and work to resolve billed and unbilled issues in a timely manner.
  • Work with minimal supervision, while teaming and/or collaborating with other AR and laboratory staff members.
