About The Position

The Finance & Accounting Administrator performs a variety of financial and accounting functions, including maintaining, analyzing, and supporting complex financial records, reports, and systems. The role provides guidance to management and staff to ensure compliance with federal laws, regulations, internal policies, and sound business practices. This position also communicates and interprets business procedures, including training on the laboratory’s Travel Policy. Perform key accounting and administrative tasks within Travel Services. Audit Expense Reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with policy requirements. Develop into a Subject Matter Expert in Travel & Expense policies, procedures, and systems. Provide strong customer service and guidance on travel and reimbursement processes. Support Finance & Accounting staff in advising management and employees on compliance with federal regulations and internal policies. Assist with Travel Credit Card program activities, including processing applications, resolving late fee or decline issues, and managing aging reports. Interpret and apply diverse requirements, meet critical deadlines, and resolve issues promptly. Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with PNNL staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant experience -OR- AA or higher and 4 years of relevant experience
  • Requires U.S. Citizen, or Person who is currently in the U.S. or U.S. Territory with residency for the preceding 3 continuous years.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Battelle's travel processes and financial systems is highly desired.
