About The Position

Champion Home Builders is seeking a Production Work-Final Finish Group Lead for its Leesville, Louisiana region. The role can perform any job in the assigned department and assists the Foreman with daily tasks and paperwork, filling in for the Foreman when absent. The Group Lead supports production assembly, employee training and work assignment, quality and schedule oversight, and the maintenance of safe and orderly operations. The position directly supervises employees in the assigned area.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of construction best practices, equipment maintenance, and equipment use.
• Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate and report effectively.
• Aptitude in mathematics and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Good physical condition and stamina.
• Fluency in English.

• Spanish language skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lay out, and assist with scheduling and assigning employees engaged in assembly.
• Perform a variety of assembly duties using prints, drawings, samples, and process sheets.
• Instruct production workers in blueprint reading and assembly.
• Check completed work and repairs for production quality and ensure work is completed according to schedule.
• Assist in resolving problems, delays, and difficulties, taking appropriate action as needed.
• Suggest corrective actions to support consistent production, quality standards, reduced costs, and increased efficiency.
• Review and correct employee deficiencies to ensure conformance with established standards, and refer abnormal conditions to the supervisor.
• Ensure proper operation of equipment and machinery and report malfunctions to supervision.
• Maintain accurate production and attendance records and prepare and maintain departmental reports as requested.
• Ensure adherence to safety rules, regulations, and company policies, and keep the work area neat and orderly.
• Remain responsible for the quality and quantity of finished work.
• Train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; address complaints; and support the Foreman in resolving problems.
• Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
