About The Position

The topper is responsible for installing fans, sheet metal parts, heat exchange coils and completing assembly of commercial/industrial refrigeration & HVAC equipment. This role requires the ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment, read and understand engineering drawings and bills of material, identify parts, and install various components. The employee must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and complete job assignments on time, while also contributing to team efforts and cooperating with coworkers. Accurate timekeeping and care for tools and equipment are also essential.

Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.

Problem-solving skills are essential.
Asking questions when needing clarification.
Sustained use of eyesight for functions such as visual inspection, reading, measuring and operating hand tools.
Ability to see objects and detect motion at wide angles (peripheral vision) in order to maintain employee safety.
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection).

Nice To Haves

A high school level of education is preferred for this position in order to continue upward advancement in the company.
Forklift license (obtained on-site)

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Read and understand engineering drawings and instructions.
Read and understand bills of material.
Identify parts and pull top-out parts from the Bill of Materials.
Install sheet metal parts, fans, door locks, etc. by looking at the panel and determining how each part/fan/lock will fit in perfectly to prevent scrapping sheet metal parts.
Check work and ensure quality.
Contribute to team effort by working with others and accomplishing related functions as needed.
Complete any task as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies, and company procedures.
Work overtime as necessary.
Attend work as required.
Arrive for work on time.
Charge time accurately in time and attendance system on the computer to ensure accurate labor distribution and payroll.
Follow manufacturing instructions, work by oneself without constant supervision, be self-motivated and complete job assignments on time.
Care for tools and equipment.
Advise maintenance of equipment that is not working properly.
Clean work area as required.
