About The Position

Sets up and operates various types of fillet roll machines to ensure conforming parts are being produced. This role involves inspecting work pieces for defects, measuring dimensions to ensure accuracy, and performing minor machine maintenance.

Requirements

• Able to read, comprehend, and execute directions from mechanical drawings.
• Able to measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Inspect work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces to determine accuracy of machine operation, using process procedures, templates, or other measuring instruments.
• Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions such as worn or damaged rollers and notify Supervisor.
• Change worn machine accessories such as rollers, fingers and pushers using hand tools.
• Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks per specification and act in accordance with output.
• Inspect parts to ensure conformation, dimension and tolerance levels with specifications and blueprints using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Utilize full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before start, during and completion of production run.
• Recognize improper machine functioning and defects in machinery, measuring instruments or equipment and inform leads or immediate supervisor when machine maintenance is needed.
• Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or work pieces, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs.
• Read blueprints for product specification such as dimensions, tolerance, number or parts to be formed and tooling instruction on type of tooling required.
• Read routers and operation drawings to determine machining dimensions and requirements.
• Perform record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follow safety regulations.
• Other duties may be assigned.
