About The Position

American Welding and Gas, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Fill Plant Operator at its Industrial Gas Fill Plant facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. The position is primarily responsible for manufacturing compressed gas and liquid products. Work includes pre-fill inspection of cylinders, filling, labeling, and analyzing or quarantining cylinders before release for shipment. The operator also moves and stores cylinders and may load and unload cylinders for transport.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to read and interpret gauges and analog dials.
• Ability to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders.
• Ability to lift 75–100 pounds.
• Detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work well with other people.
• Ability to perform duties in a safety-conscious manner with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure the manifold meets required specifications daily.
• Ensure cylinders pass required pre-fill inspections before filling.
• Fill cylinders according to the SOP.
• Move compressed gas or liquid cylinders.
• Correctly label cylinders.
• Ensure paperwork is complete and accurate.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, HazMat, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
