About The Position

American Welding and Gas, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Fill Plant Operator at its Industrial Gas Fill Plant facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. The position is primarily responsible for manufacturing compressed gas and liquid products. Work includes inspecting cylinders before filling, filling and labeling cylinders, and analyzing or quarantining cylinders before release for shipment. The operator also moves and stores cylinders and may load or unload them for transport.

The position requires following standard operating procedures and applicable regulatory requirements, completing accurate paperwork, and performing duties safely with minimal supervision. The role involves handling compressed gas and liquid cylinders and may require lifting 75–100 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to read and interpret gauges and analog dials.
• Ability to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders.
• Ability to lift 75–100 pounds.
• Detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work well with other people.
• Ability to perform duties in a safety-conscious manner with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure the manifold meets required specifications daily.
• Ensure all cylinders pass required pre-fill inspections before filling.
• Fill cylinders as outlined in the SOPs.
• Move compressed gas or liquid cylinders.
• Store cylinders and, as needed, load or unload cylinders for transport.
• Correctly label cylinders.
• Ensure paperwork is complete and accurate.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, HazMat, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
