About The Position

American Welding and Gas, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Fill Plant Operator at its gas cylinder production and distribution facility in Willmar, Minnesota. This is an entry-level position; no experience is necessary. The position is primarily responsible for manufacturing compressed gas and liquid products. Work includes inspecting cylinders before filling, filling and labeling them, and analyzing or quarantining cylinders before release for shipment. The operator also moves and stores cylinders and may load or unload cylinders for transport. American Welding & Gas, Inc. manufactures and distributes industrial, medical, specialty, and beverage gases. The company is headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, and operates 81 branch locations and 19 gas fill plants in 21 states.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read and write English.
Ability to read and interpret gauges and analog dials.
Ability to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders.
Ability to lift 75–100 lbs.
Detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work well with other people.
Ability to perform duties in a safety-conscious manner with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

Forklift skills and experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Ensure the manifold meets required specifications daily.
Ensure all cylinders pass required pre-fill inspections before filling.
Fill cylinders according to the SOP.
Move compressed gas or liquid cylinders.
Label cylinders correctly.
Ensure paperwork is complete and accurate.
Ensure compliance with cGMP, HazMat, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Move and store cylinders and potentially load or unload cylinders for transport.
Analyze or quarantine cylinders before release for shipment.
