About The Position

American Welding & Gas, Inc. is hiring an entry-level Fill Plant Operator for its gas cylinder production and distribution facility in Willmar, Minnesota. No prior experience is necessary. The operator manufactures compressed gas and liquid products by inspecting cylinders before filling, filling and labeling cylinders, and analyzing or quarantining cylinders before release for shipment. The role also involves moving and storing cylinders and may include loading and unloading them for transport.

The position requires following standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate paperwork, and performing work safely with minimal supervision. Forklift skills and experience are a plus.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to read and interpret gauges and analog dials.
• Ability to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders.
• Ability to lift 75–100 pounds.
• Detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work well with other people.
• Ability to perform duties in a safety-conscious manner with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure the manifold meets required specifications daily.
• Ensure cylinders pass required pre-fill inspections before filling.
• Fill cylinders according to the SOPs.
• Move and store compressed gas or liquid cylinders.
• Correctly label cylinders.
• Ensure paperwork is complete and accurate.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, HazMat, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Load and unload cylinders for transport as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
