About The Position

Toromont Cat is looking for a Field Welder to join our team in Dartmouth! Field Welder plays an important role in our Service department providing technical expertise to ensure superior customer service in the maintenance, repair and fabrication of parts and structures in our shop.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education with a Welder Certificate in GMAW, SMAW and FCAW and/or experienced/Certified Machinist for Diesel or Heavy Equipment

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
• Operate electric, acetylene and semi-automatic welding and automatic burning equipment effectively and efficiently
• Fabricate structures from drawings or sketches
• Maintain quality workmanship to repair Caterpillar equipment within the established time standards out in the field
• Restore damaged steel and cast iron components by welding, dissembling and assembling relative components
• Maintain an inventory of materials used for fabrication
• Maintain and build strong customer relations
