About The Position

The Field Training Manager is a dynamic, hybrid role responsible for creating, executing, and maintaining comprehensive training and developmental programs for hourly teammates, salaried managers, and support center staff across all company and franchise Alamo Drafthouse locations. Reporting within the Training & Development Department, this position focuses on driving efficiency, operational excellence, and teammate growth while ensuring seamless alignment with brand values, compliance standards, and culture. Major areas of responsibility include managing Regional Field Trainers, overseeing digital learning via The Reel, leading initiative rollouts, and directing the recruitment, deployment, and development of On The Road (OTR) teams for new venue openings and field support. Operating with high autonomy, this self-driven role balances hands-on field engagement (70%) with remote and administrative work (30%). The Manager maintains a flexible, business-aligned schedule—including nights, weekends, and holidays—to observe peak venue operations at least twice weekly and drive continuous operational improvement. Frequent local venue visits and extended out-of-state travel are required to support grand openings, company conferences, and ongoing field operations across the system.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Associate's in Business or equivalent real-world experience
  • 1+ years of LMS administration experience
  • Advanced computer and office skills required (MS Word, Google, etc.)
  • Proven leadership and motivational skills
  • Exceptional coaching and development skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident and powerful public speaking skills tailored to both large and small groups
  • Self-motivated and a resourceful problem solver
  • Strong teamwork and willingness to support others
  • Holds self and others accountable to consistently maintain high standards
  • Maintain a minimum 45-hour work week with regular night and weekend availability.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to support venues.

Responsibilities

  • Works with venues to ensure all compliance, culture, respect, and required content is taken
  • Introduces engagement opportunities to further create a positive working environment
  • Supports the salaried manager in creating a positive and constructive working environment
  • Works with DOs to ensure that MITs have the necessary schedules, tools, and materials, and supports checkpoints and certifications
  • Manages the Regional Field Trainers in their respective markets
  • Guides communication and timelines of initiatives through Regional Field Trainers
  • Manages online and paper materials to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Supports all teammates and managers by providing necessary resources and tools
  • Constantly follows up post-training to receive feedback and make improvements to initiatives
  • Maintains and teaches Train the Trainer classrooms to enhance and certify venue trainers
  • Manages advanced programs such as Private Events, Shift Leader, and Key Hourly
  • Builds and assigns Reel (LMS) modules based on local initiatives
  • Utilizes message boards in the Reel (LMS) to enhance communication
  • Utilizes reporting in the Reel (LMS) to validate online training completions
  • Develops a training culture by maintaining accountability for the training process and evaluating each venue’s performance
  • Executes training audits to uphold training practices, brand standards, and required signage
  • Executes brand initiatives and rollouts
  • Ensures development tools are taught and used in all market(s)
  • Assists in the research and development of improved services and operations protocols
  • Schedules and maintains Quality Assurance Checks
  • Monitors NPS and creates action plans for common issues
  • Organizes and communicates reporting based on current focuses
  • Works closely with the Support Center to ensure that all standards are being met or exceeded
