About The Position

The Field Technician assists with the treatment and disposal of waste and maintains operational areas within and surrounding the stabilization plant and landfill in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role promotes safe and efficient plant operations, operates plant and transport equipment, inspects waste during off-loading, and samples incoming and treated loads for laboratory analysis. The technician follows required safety regulations, company guidelines, and personal protective equipment requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience operating heavy plant equipment, including conveyors, crushers, and pumps.
• Experience following safety regulations and company guidelines in a plant environment.
• Experience performing tasks that require a high degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Promotes safety and efficiency among plant employees and activities.
• Maintains a clean work area and follows safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Operates conveyors, crushers, vibrating screens, pumps, air pollution control equipment, off-road trucks, and vacuum trucks while wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Unloads waste into the stabilization plant or landfill after receiving approval.
• Visually inspects waste loads during off-loading for non-conformance to waste acceptance conditions and reports non-conformance to the Operations Supervisor.
• Visually inspects waste container off-loading to ensure waste is completely removed from the truck and reports remaining material to the Operations Supervisor.
• Samples incoming containerized and treated loads according to the Waste Analysis Plan and submits samples to the laboratory for analysis.
• Carries out other reasonable directives, responsibilities, and activities that may be assigned at any time, with or without notice.
