About The Position

EquipmentShare is hiring a Field Technician (Mechanic) at its Advanced Solutions rental facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. The technician maintains and repairs customer- and company-owned Pump, Power & HVAC equipment, including power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors. The role uses EquipmentShare technology to create and monitor work orders, track service intervals, order parts, and diagnose equipment issues using information from numerous makes and models.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. The role is subject to on-call scheduling, with additional compensation for on-call work. Field work may require travel to customer job sites for preventive maintenance, repairs, equipment setup, and troubleshooting. EquipmentShare provides year-round company OEM training. Employment is contingent on a background check, and this safety-sensitive position requires passing a 10-panel drug screen.

Requirements

• Must own tools applicable to the position.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, and reading and understanding schematics.
• Strong customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
• High school diploma.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years old to operate a company vehicle.
• Ability to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely, and lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Must pass a 10-panel drug screen; employment is contingent on passing a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Trade school certificate.
• Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair.
• OSHA requirements knowledge.
• EPA 608 certification; candidates without certification should be able to obtain it within 6–12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe work practices when repairing equipment.
• Use laptops, tablets, and company technology to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track service intervals, order parts, and diagnose problems.
• Travel to customer job sites as required to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and/or oil-free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and customer locations and complete repairs.
• Work independently or with other technicians to set up and operate equipment at the shop and customer sites.
• Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
• Complete paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed in work orders accurately and promptly each day.
• Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
