The Field Operations Technician I MIN is responsible for collecting samples, observation, and/or inspection of products or raw materials for laboratory analysis. This role works under immediate supervision to perform job functions, collects samples of products or raw materials being transferred to containers, vessels, barges, trucks, and/or rail. The technician ensures sample containers and paperwork are properly labeled, delivers samples to the laboratory, and performs preparation, reduction, and division of samples to appropriate sizes. They gather samples at specified locations, states of processing, and time intervals, and may perform sample screening and other related physical tests. The role also involves ensuring all equipment and containers are organized and cleaned, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to all required local and federal safety processes and procedures. Depending on business needs, the technician may also be responsible for preparation or laboratory tasks. The position requires adherence to internal standards, policies, and procedures, and the performance of other assigned duties.
