Entry-Level Field Technician - Construction Materials Testing
About The Position
Intertek is seeking a Field Technician I to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Clute, Texas. Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a leading provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection in civil and commercial construction, offering services such as construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Construction Materials Testing Field Technician (I) performs various testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and controlled procedures.
Requirements
- Experience working hands-on, doing physical labor, in an outdoor work environment
- Experience working in the construction industry (or relevant)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
- Must possess, or be able to obtain prior to hire, a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card
- Must be able to obtain and maintain client-required site access credentials, including petrochemical and port facility access
- Must meet all Intertek and client site pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to criminal background, urinalysis, and hair follicle drug test
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Construction Material Testing (CMT) experience
- ACI / NICET Certifications
- Plant experience
Responsibilities
- Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting
- Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams
- Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results
